Cannes – To Do List

Cannes has such a special feeling during Spring! This year I have been there for my birthday at the end of April – beginning  of May. If during summer time, the city is packed, by this time of the year you could discover the peaceful French Riviera.

My top list of places that you should check out the next time you are there are:

Hotels:

Martinez (the hotel is not that fully booked during spring) – especially the beach &the beach restaurant which are my favourites from La Croisette / Carlton Hotel (the place to enjoy some rose wine and relax during the day)/ Marriott hotel & Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic are my top favourites. In case you are going with a big group, I highly recommend to rent a villa somewhere next to Cannes, there are so many beautiful ones and they are totally worth it for a relaxed holiday!

Restaurants:

My new favourite restaurant on the French Riviera is: L’Oasis  – you should defiantly book a table outside on the garden. Other: La Petite Maison de Nicole, Astoux et Brun, Le Mesclun, Palme d’Or (In the Martinez hotel), Le Park 45, Mantel (with a beautiful view). If you can’t book any of these, just walk around La Croisette and between the boulevard and rue d’Antibes and you will find loads of bistros and restaurants.

Shopping:

Cannes is one of the main shopping districts in the South of France – there are some fabulous shops on the Croisette Boulevard and on Rue d’Antibes but open your eyes wide as there are so many vintage boutiques around which sell some beautiful old pieces

This spring, I have been staying at The Martinez and I really loved it the hotel was not full but still busy. The sun was up every day (24 degrees) and I had breakfast on the terrace by the pool while reading my favourite French Magazines. I even sunbathed on the hotel’s pontoon. Of course I had dinner at L’Oasis and loads of rose wine. I also took an amazing Uber trip from Cannes to Monaco on the road by the sea and not on the highway and I saw some beautiful little towns and spectacular hotels! (I highly recommend it)

Kisses,

Andreea
